A special method of composite product manufacture is Resin Transfer Moulding (RTM). With this technique a double sided mould is used, in which a shell-shaped product is created.

The liquid resins are introduced in the mould under vacuum, which ensures that the right amount of resin reaches the right place. The result is a very high quality product, with exceptionally homogenous properties.

VKN has specific experience with and feeling for with this technique.

VKN is continuously further developing the technology, and has for example developed ways of preventing the fibre matting from moving when the resins flow in the mould.

If you wish to make a thin shelled, double curved, high quality product, RTM is a very attractive production technique.
